Questions

FAQ

The questions that usually show up before kickoff in Week 1.

Do I need an invite to play?

Yes. Every group is private, so somebody already inside has to send you a code. If the code does not work, it probably expired or ran out of uses. Ask them for a fresh one.

Does it cost anything?

No. No subscription, no ads, no checkout screen hiding around the corner. It is free and built for private groups.

Is this gambling?

No. No money is handled, wagered, held, or paid out, and there is no prize. Published bookmaker odds are used as a scoring mechanism — a number to grade a pick against — and nothing more.

Can I change a pick after I make it?

Until that matchup kicks off, yes, as often as you like. Each pick locks at its own kickoff rather than at a weekly deadline, so a Thursday game locking does not freeze your Sunday picks.

Can other people see my picks before the game?

No. A pick becomes visible when its own matchup starts, and not before. That is enforced on the server per matchup, not by a little visual trick in the app.

What happens if the spread lands exactly on the number?

That is a push. It pays 0.5 of the points you assigned, and it does not count against your accuracy. A push is not a wrong call.

What if a game is postponed or cancelled?

The pick is voided. It scores nothing, it is excluded from your accuracy, and the team is returned to you for the rest of the season.

Can I use the same team twice?

Once per season per slot. A team used as a favorite is still available as an underdog and on the total slot. Over and under share one lifetime, so picking a team's over also spends its under.

Do the playoffs use the same teams I have left?

No — usage resets. From week 19 every team is available again, including ones you spent in September.

Where do the lines come from?

They are captured once a week from fanduel and frozen. Everyone in a group plays the same number, and a line moving later does not change how a filed pick is graded.

Two of us finished on the same points. Who won?

Both of you, if you are also level on correct picks. Ties are declared rather than broken by joining order or alphabet. The rank after a two-way tie for first is third.

Something was scored wrong. Can it be fixed?

Yes. Your commissioner can make an adjustment, and a corrected score regrades the affected picks automatically. The change is recorded alongside the original rather than replacing it, so you can always see what changed and why.

Is there an app?

It runs in a browser on a phone or a laptop, and you can add it to your home screen. There is nothing to install.

Not answered here?

Ask whoever invited you — every group has a commissioner, and they can settle most of it. The scoring rules cover the exact arithmetic.
